Witnessing a snowfall in the mountains is on every trekker's checklist. A trek that looks marvelous both in the winter season, as well as the summer season, is an added bonus. One such trek is Dayara Bugyal. Huge snow-covered meadows, forest trails that boast of Oak, Maple and Rhododendrons trees, splendid mountain views of Bandarpoonch, Draupadi ka Danda, and Shrikhand Mahadev, with such diverse beauty that surrounds the Dayara Bugyal it is still one of the most underrated treks when it comes to Trekking in Uttarakhand.
Ideal for first-time Trekkers:
Dayara Bugyal falls under the easy-moderate category which qualifies it for first-time trekkers seeking some winter experience. Having said that it doesn't mean that you should be underprepared for this trek, physical exercise, and daily jogging can be helpful if practiced one month in advance.
Meadows that make you fall for its beauty:
Huge meadows covered under snow are definitely some of the highlights to look forward to apart from the mountain views on this trail. The snow-covered Bugyals look enigmatic when covered with the early rays of the sun. The meadows are the main attraction both in the summers as well as the winter. The pasture uplands of Uttarakhand’s alpine heights are focal points for many of our splendid treks in the region. These are the Bugyal-fecund grassy uplands secreted away in mountain laps where shepherds take their herds in summer days before the winter snow renders them fallow.
Artistic Oak and Maple forests:
Uttarakhand has always been famous for its mix of both Oak and Maple forests. On the route of Dayara Bugyal, you will witness some of the most artistic trees that are picture-perfect. There are also some rhododendron trees which add to the beauty of the surroundings. A rambling walk through the undulated pastures of Dayara will bring you out of the world frames of its green ecosystem, the whispering wilderness of the oak woods, and somewhere far away, a breathless peak view panorama gradually unveiling.
Jaw-dropping mountain views:
Some of the most amazing views of Bandarpoonch, Draupadi ka Danda, Shrikhand Mahadev, and other Gangotri peaks can be seen from the Dayara Bugyal trails and are a treat for any shutterbug. Walking on such beautiful terrain with stunning views of Bandarpoonch and other peaks, you will fail to notice that you have finally reached closer to the top. You might also spot a sparsely filled water stream. The final climb is steep but it is worth the physical strain because you will end up standing in front of the Dodital range. Bandarpoonch seems a touching distance away. The trail then takes you to the Gidara pass. Pass distinguishes ways to Pichkiya and Gidara Bugyal.
