Today, we will begin our trek towards Dingboche. From Tengboche, cross bridges and rivers accompanied by beautiful mountain views all the way to Dingboche. Stone steps will lead you through forests of Rhododendrons, conifers, and birches, and at the bottom of the forest lies the Deboche village. From here, the trail rises up and enters into the alpine meadows and Dingboche. Dingboche is the only place in the entire Khumbu region where barley is grown. The views of the Himalayas are amazing from Dingboche. Start your trek from Tengboche and walk towards Pangboche Village, you will get to see some beautiful views of Mt. Ama Dablam and from Pangboche we will trek towards Pheriche and to Imja Valley. The beautiful Lobuche River passes through Imja Valley and from here a steep hike will take you to Dingboche. The trek takes about 6 to 7 hrs and for the most part, the difficulty is moderate.
At the beginning of the trail, you will first descend into a forest trail passing the small settlement of Deboche. As you trek from Tengboche to Dingboche, the scenery changes as you gain altitude, greenery slowly giving way to barren landscapes, and the trails gradually becoming more rugged and it will also start getting cold and windy. In the initial part of the trek, you will pass by a wall with stone inscriptions and a small stream will keep you company along the trail. You will have to cross the stream to the left-hand side of the valley. The majestic Ama Dablam dominates the skyline ahead of you. About two hours into the trek, you will arrive at Pangboche, a mountain village, where you get beautiful views of Mt. Everest. From Pangboche, you will hike upwards towards the valley and throughout the trek, you will slowly gain elevation. Although the trek is mostly uphill, the slope is relatively easy without extremely steep inclines. Ama Dablam continues to stay in view, however, you will only get to see a tiny silver of the top of Mt. Everest. Lhotse and Nuptse become quite prominent now.
Soon you will arrive at the village of Shomare, your last village before Dingboche. Ama Dablam still remains in view but now you will get to see a different angle of the mountain from what you have seen before. The trail continues winding to the valley side and you will cross another river before entering Dingboche village. Dingboche is a lovely Himalayan hamlet and you will see agricultural fields protected by stone walls. Once at the village, we will check into a guesthouse and we will stay the night in the guesthouse.
Acclimatization Day
Today is an essential day as it is the second and last acclimatization day of the trek (you may remember the first of which was at Namche Bazaar). As we did the previous time, we will use the day to reach a higher altitude and then return to Dingboche to spend the night. One famous saying in high-altitude mountaineering is “Climb high, sleep low”, which means it is wise, and sometimes even essential (while ascending more than 305m 1,000ft at an altitude of above 3,050m /10,000 ft) to sleep at a lower altitude than the highest point reached during the day. This is the first step of our acclimatization hike, the Nangkartshang Hermitage, where many trekkers choose to stop. Given that we are always looking for more exceptional views and that we are feeling relatively well overall, we decided to push on and reach the summit.
Trek from Dingboche to Labuche
- Altitude: 4,950 m/ 16,200 ft.

Today's trek to Dingboche begins from Tengboche, unfolding a picturesque journey through bridges and rivers that mirror the towering peaks above. As we leave Tengboche behind, stone steps lead us through lush forests of Rhododendrons, conifers, and birches, with Deboche village nestled below. Emerging from the forest, the trail ascends into alpine meadows, eventually revealing Dingboche nestled amidst breathtaking Himalayan vistas. Starting early from Tengboche, our path winds towards Pangboche Village, offering stunning views of the iconic Mt. Ama Dablam. Continuing through Pheriche and the serene Imja Valley, where the Lobuche River flows, a steady climb leads us to Dingboche. The journey spans 6 to 7 hours, with moderate challenges along the way.
Descending into a forest trail past Deboche, the landscape transforms with altitude gain, transitioning from verdant greens to rugged terrains, accompanied by a chill in the air. Passing by stone inscriptions and a babbling stream, we traverse leftward, with the majestic Ama Dablam dominating the horizon. After a couple of hours, Pangboche emerges, offering spectacular views of Mt. Everest. Uphill from Pangboche, the trail steadily gains elevation amidst panoramic vistas of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest's distant summit peeking into view. Lhotse and Nuptse also command attention as we approach Shomare, the final village before Dingboche, where Ama Dablam reveals a new perspective. Winding along the valley's edge, we cross another river before reaching Dingboche, a tranquil Himalayan village adorned with agricultural fields shielded by stone walls. Settling into a cozy guesthouse, we unwind amidst the mountain's embrace, preparing for a restful night in Dingboch.

Today marks an exciting day of our trek as we embark on an exhilarating journey to Everest Base Camp. Waking with anticipation, we fuel ourselves with breakfast and prepare for the adventure ahead. Starting from Lobuche, the trail winds through narrow mountain gaps and ancient glacial moraines along the Khumbu glacier, leading us to Gorak Shep, our last stop before the base camp. After a satisfying lunch in Gorak Shep, we set off for the ultimate highlight: Everest Base Camp. Guided by experienced Sherpas, we navigate a route that shifts with each season, mirroring the glacier's movements. The trek spans approximately 7 hours round trip, offering ample time to soak in the momentous achievement, capture stunning photographs, and absorb the awe-inspiring surroundings.
Today's trek unfolds in two parts: first, the journey from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, covering 6 kilometres of sandy and rocky terrain with intermittent steep sections, all under the watchful gaze of Mt. Nuptse. Along the way, Sherpa flag monuments serve as landmarks of our progress towards the Everest region's heart. The final stretch to Gorak Shep crosses rocky, uneven ground, demanding careful footing as Kala Patthar and Pumori loom ahead. After a rejuvenating lunch at our guesthouse, we prepare for the second leg: a trek along the vast Khumbu Glacier towards Everest Base Camp. The moderate ascent unfolds amidst technical terrain of sand and rocks, with occasional slippery patches demanding cautious steps. As we approach, the dramatic Khumbu Icefall cascades into view, adorned with fluttering Sherpa prayer flags guiding us to the base camp. The trail culminates at the iconic Everest Base Camp Rock, a symbol of triumph for trekkers. Take your time to savour the moment before retracing our steps back to Gorak Shep for a well-deserved night's rest.

- Breakfast at Gorakshep after the Kalapatthar hike.
We start early in the morning to catch the dramatic views from Kala Patthar witnessing the first light of day shining on Mt. Everest. However, we need to get prepared for an early morning, dark and cold temperature (-10 to -14 C) departure beforehand. Further, there is always the potential of chilly winds which are quite common. Familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse tower to the east even as Everest begins to reveal itself emerging between the west shoulder crest and Nuptse. During the ascent to Kala Patthar, we can pause to catch our breath at several outstanding viewpoints to snap pictures. After several hours of ascent, we will be at Kala Patthar. From this juncture, we scramble to climb the rocky outcrop near the summit marked by cairns and prayer flags. As we reach the top, we sit on the Kala Patthar where our eyes rook taking in the unbelievable Himalayan Panorama, wandering from one mighty massif to another. We take as many pictures as we can and take them in view with our mind’s eye to last a lifetime. On being back to Gorak Shep, we have breakfast then we will descend down to Labuche for a good night’s rest.

Summit Day
- Altitude: 6119m
- Distance 5km one way 6 hrs
- Time 10 hrs
Today is a hard day of trekking as you summit Labuche Peak. Starting early in the morning around 2 am we start to climb. It takes around 7 to 8 hours to reach the top and then we descend to the base camp. Today you will be using crampons, ropes and ice axes during the summit. The last part before reaching the summit is a 45-degree sloped wall and our Trek Leaders will assist you during the climb. From the summit of Lobuche Peak, you can see the entire Khumbu Region. After spending some time at the summit, you will descend down to the base camp.
Trek from Labuche Base Camp to Pangboche

After breakfast, we descend to Thukla and then downhill to Pheriche. From Pheriche, we trek to Pangboche village. The descent to Pheriche offers some of the most stunning mountain views. You will again pass forests of Rhododendrons and Junipers as you get closer to Pangboche village. At Pangboche, you can visit the popular Pangboche monastery. Trek from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar

- Trek Distance: 12 km | 6 - 7 hrs.
- Altitude Loss: 550 m/ 1,800 ft.
- Moderately, continuous descent and short ascent just before Namche Bazaar.
After your descent to Namche Bazaar, the cumbersome part of the trekking is almost over. From here on the descent will be easy. But we recommend starting early as it is a long walk. Start the journey by heading down to the village, across the river, and again climbing back up the valley wall. Keep hiking alongside the valley and you will meet the same path that you took at the beginning of the trek. The trek is similar to what you came in only it is in the reverse direction. So when descending instead of having views towards Everest or Ama Dablam, you will now have views towards the opposite direction. You will descend to the small village of Deboche followed by Tengboche. Tengboche is your halfway point to Namche Bazaar. From Tengboche, it's a steep technical zig-zag path downwards for about 2.5 hrs so be aware of your footing. Once you have declined the path, you will cross a suspension bridge followed by a 2 km incline along the valley wall. As you zig-zag up towards the trail, it becomes forested and once you have completed the uphill ascent, it is a fairly smooth walk for the remaining 5 km to Namche Bazaar. The path to Namche Bazaar is etched on a valley wall and there’s the river below. Soon the path bends inwards and you are welcomed with views of Namche Bazaar. Descend down to the village below and check into a teahouse. Rest well. Tomorrow will be the last day of your trek.

In the unlikely event that TTH cancels a trek prior to the scheduled departure date:
While it is extremely rare for TTH to cancel a trek, we understand that unforeseen circumstances or natural disasters may occasionally require us to do so before the scheduled departure. These circumstances could include continuous rain or snow, thunderstorms, snowstorms, landslides, floods, earthquakes, or any other natural calamity that poses a risk to the safety of our trekkers. Additionally, unforeseeable events such as local riots, curfews, pandemics, lockdowns, government orders, or any similar situations that compromise the safety of the trekking experience may also necessitate a cancellation.
In the event of such a cancellation, TTH will provide you with a voucher equivalent to the amount you paid for the trek. This voucher can be redeemed for any of our treks within the next year, allowing you to still enjoy an adventure with us at a later date.
Note
-
The issuance of a voucher is not applicable in situations where you are required to descend from the trek for any reason. The trek leader may make the decision to send you down from the trek due to factors such as insufficient fitness level, symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), high blood pressure, exceeding the designated turn-around-time, health concerns, or if you are found smoking, drinking, or violating the rules set for the trek. In such cases, the provision of a voucher does not apply.
In the rare event that TTH shifts a trek:
We would like to emphasize that weather conditions in high-altitude areas are highly unpredictable and can undergo sudden changes at any time, irrespective of the day. Additionally, circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, and lockdowns, may impact the feasibility of conducting a trek. In cases where we are unable to proceed with an event due to such circumstances that are beyond our direct control, we will make every effort to provide you with an alternative trek that is safer and more suitable.
In such situations, we will issue a voucher to offset the cost difference between the originally scheduled trek and the alternative trek. This voucher can be redeemed at any time within one year from the date of issue. Please note that a refund fee or reimbursement of the cost difference is not applicable in these cases.

Choosing the right trek for a beginner can be a bit overwhelming as there are many factors to consider such as distance, elevation gain, terrain difficulty, weather, and time of year. Here are some tips that can help you choose the right trek for a beginner:
1. Determine fitness level: Assess the fitness level of the beginner to understand their physical capabilities. This will help you select a trek that is challenging but not too difficult.
2. Choose a well-traveled trail: A well-traveled trail will have more amenities such as signposts, water stations, and shelter. It is also safer as there will be other hikers on the trail.
3. Consider the length of the trek: For beginners, it is recommended to start with a shorter trek that can be completed in a day or two. This will help them get acclimatized to trekking and build their confidence.
4. Look for gradual elevation gain: Choose a trek with a gradual elevation gain rather than steep ascents. This will make the trek easier and more enjoyable.
5. Check the weather: Check the weather forecast before selecting a trek. Avoid treks during the monsoon season or winter when the trails can be slippery or dangerous.
6. Research the trail: Read about the trail to get an idea of the terrain, altitude, and difficulty level. This will help you select a trek that is suitable for the beginner.
7. Consult with an expert: If you are unsure about which trek to choose, consult our trek expert Mr. Nitin (+91 70600 59773) between 10 AM to 6 PM (Tuesday - Friday). Mr. Nitin will provide you valuable advice and guidance.
Overall, it is important to choose a trek that is enjoyable, challenging but not too difficult, and suitable for the beginner's fitness level and experience.
It is not recommended for a beginner to choose a difficult Himalayan trek. Trekking in the Himalayas can be physically and mentally challenging, especially if you are not used to the high altitude, steep slopes, and rugged terrain. Choosing a difficult trek without the proper experience, fitness level, and preparation can be dangerous and put you at risk of altitude sickness, injury, and other hazards.
If you are a beginner, it is recommended to start with an easier trek and gradually build up your skills and experience. This will help you understand the challenges of trekking in the Himalayas, and also prepare you physically and mentally for a more difficult trek in the future. It is also important to choose a trek that matches your fitness level, experience, and interest.
There is no specific age limit for a beginner trekker. However, it is important to consider your physical fitness, health condition, and personal interests before embarking on a trek. Trekking in the Himalayas can be physically and mentally demanding, and requires a certain level of physical fitness and endurance.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or are above a certain age, it is recommended to consult with a doctor before embarking on a trek. It is also important to listen to your body and take breaks as needed during the trek to prevent exhaustion or injury.
We recommend visiting our "Suggest Me a Trek" page. By filling out the form, our experts will contact you with the best possible trek options based on your preferences and experience level. Layer Up From Head To Toe
Eat Full Meals, never sleep empty stomach
You can keep warmee (if you’re more susceptible to cold).
Use sleeping bag in right way and don’t leave free space in sleeping bag.
For upper body
– Thermal layer
– T-shirt (full-sleeves)
– Fleece T-shirt (for extreme colds)
– Fleece layer
– Thick Jacket/Down Jacket
– Waterproof or Windproof layer (outermost layer, when it is snowing or raining)
- For Lower Body
– Thermal layer
– Hiking pants (normal) or Winter hiking pants
Based on how warm you feel you can skip any of the above layers. Your outer later should be windproof since it is windy at high altitude.
The idea behind layering is that the more insulation you have the less cold you feel, and instead of wearing a very thick jacket if you wear multiple layers, your body will be better insulated against the cold.

Labuche Peak, also known as Lobuche Peak, stands at 6,119 meters (20,075 feet) and offers stunning views of the Everest region. Trekking to Labuche Peak provides an adventurous journey through the Himalayas and an opportunity to summit a challenging peak with breathtaking panoramas.
The Labuche Peak Trek is considered moderately challenging. It involves high altitude trekking and some technical climbing during the summit push. Prior trekking experience and good physical fitness are recommended.
You need a Sagarmatha National Park entry permit and a Labuche Peak climbing permit. These are usually arranged by your trekking agency as part of the package.
The best time for the Labuche Peak Trek is during the pre-monsoon (spring) season from March to May and post-monsoon (autumn) season from September to November. These months offer stable weather and clear skies for trekking and climbing.
Accommodation during the trek is in tea houses and lodges along the route. These are basic but comfortable, offering twin-sharing rooms with common bathrooms. At the base camp of Labuche Peak, tents are typically used.
Yes, altitude sickness is a concern due to the high altitude involved. Adequate acclimatization days are included in the itinerary to help trekkers adjust gradually to higher altitudes. It's essential to drink plenty of water, follow a gradual ascent, and listen to your guide's advice.
Tea houses and lodges along the trekking route serve a variety of meals including Nepali, Tibetan, and international dishes. The food is freshly prepared, though the menu choices become more limited as you ascend higher.
Basic climbing equipment such as ropes, ice axes, crampons, and harnesses are usually provided by the trekking agency. Personal climbing gear such as boots, gloves, and appropriate clothing should be brought by trekkers or rented in Kathmandu.
You should be in good physical condition and have prior trekking experience. The trek involves long days of hiking over varied terrain and a challenging summit day. Regular cardio and strength training beforehand will help prepare you for the trek.
In case of emergencies, there are established evacuation procedures. Guides and porters are trained in first aid and carry medical kits. Travel insurance that covers emergency evacuation and medical expenses is essential for all trekkers.
