Today, the trekking regions across the Himalayas are experiencing mostly sunny weather, but some regions are still experiencing mixed weather conditions.

Despite the variable weather, trekking activities are progressing smoothly on most routes. Trails remain accessible, although some sections can be wet, muddy, or slippery after rainfall.

Trekkers are advised to carry “proper rain gear, waterproof trekking shoes and warm layers”, and to stay prepared for sudden changes in mountain weather. Wet and slippery sections may require extra caution.

As per the latest reports, here’s how the weather looks today across the Himalayan trekking regions:

UTTARAKHAND TREKS UPDATE

Valley of Flowers Trek

The weather at the Valley of Flowers base camp (Pipalkoti) is mixed today. Sometimes it gets cloudy and sometimes rainy. As for the batches:

• The batch of 29th August is on the last day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Pipalkoti back to Rishikesh.
• The batch of 30th August is on its 5th day, and today, they will trek from Ghangaria to Govindghat and drive to Pipalkoti.
• The batch of 31st August is on its 4th day, and today, they will trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and back to Ghangaria

HIMACHAL TREKS UPDATE

Hampta Pass Trek

The weather at the Hampta Pass base camp (Manali) has changed, and it’s sunny today. As for the batches:

• The two batches of 30th August are on the last day of their trek schedule, and today they will drive from Chatru to Manali.
• The 31st August batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Shea Goru to Chatru and drive to Chandratal to Chatru.
• The 2nd September batch is on the 2nd day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Chhika to Balu Ka Ghera.
• A new batch of Hampta Pass begins on 3rd September, and today they will drive from Manali to Jobra and trek from Jobra to Chhika.

Pin Bhaba Trek

The weather at the Pin Bhaba Pass base camp (Kafnu) is sunny today. As for the batches:

• The normal batch and the customized batch of 29th August are on the 6th day, and today they will trek from Phutsirang to Bwaldar via Bhaba Pass.
• The 30th August batch is on the 5th day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Kara to Phutsirang.
• The 31st August batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will rest and acclimatize at Kara.

Yunam Peak expedition

The weather at the base camp of the Yunam Peak trek (Manali) has changed, and it’s sunny today. As for the batches:

• The 30th August batch is on the 5th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Bharatpur to Base Camp.

LEH - LADAKH EXPEDITION TREK

The weather across the Leh-Ladakh trekking routes was clear till now, but today it's all cloudy, and it might rain soon. Therefore, we firmly advise all the trekkers to keep a close watch on local weather updates and stay prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions.

Dzo Jongo East Peak With Markha Valley Trek

The weather in the Markha Valley region is partially cloudy, and it might rain there too. As for the batches:

• The 23 August 2026 Indian Navy batch of Dzo Jongo East and West Expedition 15 climbers summited Dzo Jongo East base camp, and 07 climbers summited both Dzo Jongo East and West. Now, they are returning to base camp.

Kang Yatse 2 Peak Expedition

The weather in the Kang Yatse 2 region is partially cloudy, and it might rain there too. As for the batches:

• The 27 August 2026 Kang Yatse II expedition is on its 7th day, and today they will rest and will have a training day.
• The 29 August batch of Markha valley trek, Kang Yatse 1 expedition, Kang Yatse II expedition and Twin Peaks expedition has left Hankar for Nimalings with 11 trekkers ,06 climbers , 10 climbers and 02 climbers respectively .
• The 30 August Kang Yatse 2 Expedition batch departed from Markha to Hankar with 15 climbers.

The overall conditions are typical of this season. From prime monsoon to transition phase, the weather is behaving as per the expected lines. And teams are continuing their planned movements.

• Cloudy and rainy weather is manageable with the right preparation, albeit extra caution is needed in the Himalayas.
• Before stepping out, it's always better to check the latest weather updates.
• Pack appropriate rain gear, and ensure your equipment is suitable for wet terrain.
• More importantly, follow your trek leader’s instructions earnestly, and avoid unnecessary risks.
• Also, be prepared to delay or reschedule your trek.
