Today, the trekking regions across the Himalayas are experiencing mixed weather conditions. The combination of sunny spells, cloudy skies, and occasional rain.

Despite the variable weather, trekking activities are progressing smoothly on most routes. Trails remain accessible, although some sections can be wet, muddy, or slippery after rainfall.

Trekkers are advised to carry “proper rain gear, waterproof trekking shoes and warm layers”, and to stay prepared for sudden changes in mountain weather. Wet and slippery sections may require extra caution.

As per the latest reports, here’s how the weather looks today across the Himalayan trekking regions:

UTTARAKHAND TREKS UPDATE

Valley of Flowers Trek

The weather at the Valley of Flowers base camp (Pipalkoti) is cloudy today. As for the batches:

• The batch of 29th August is on its 5th day, and today, they will trek from Ghangaria to Govindghat and drive to Pipalkoti.
• The batch of 30th August is on its 4th day, and today, they will trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and back to Ghangaria
• The batch of 31st August is on its 3rd day, and today, they will trek from Ghangaria to Valley of Flower and back to Ghangaria.

HIMACHAL TREKS UPDATE

Hampta Pass Trek

The weather at the Hampta Pass base camp (Manali) continues to be sunny and cloudy today. As for the batches:

• The two batches of 30th August are on their 4th day, and today they will trek from Shea Goru to Chatru and drive to Chandratal to Chatru.
• The 31st August batch was on their 3rd day, and today they will trek from Balu Ka Ghera to Shea Goru via Hampta Pass.
• A new batch of the Hampta Pass has begun on 2nd September, and today they will drive from Manali to Jobra and trek from Jobra to Chhika.

Pin Bhaba Trek

The weather at the Pin Bhaba Pass base camp (Kafnu) is sunny today. As for the batches:

• The normal batch and the customized batch of 29th August are on the 5th day, and today they will trek from Kara to Phutsirang.
• The batch of 30th August is on its 4th day, and today is Rest and Acclimatization at Kara.
• The 31st August batch is on its 3rd day, and today, they’ll trek from Mulling to Kara.

Yunam Peak expedition

The weather at the base camp of the Yunam Peak trek, Manali, continues to be sunny and cloudy today. As for the batches:

• The 30th August batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will have an acclimatization day.

Bhrigu Lake Trek

The weather at the base camp of Bhrigu Lake (Gulaba) is cloudy today. As for the batches:

• The batch of 30th August is on its 4th day, and today they will trek from Rola Kholi to Bhrigu Lake and back to Rola Kholi.

LEH - LADAKH EXPEDITION TREK

The weather across the Leh-Ladakh trekking routes was clear till now, but today it's all cloudy, and it might rain soon. Therefore, we firmly advise all the trekkers to keep a close watch on local weather updates and stay prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions.

Dzo Jongo East Peak With Markha Valley Trek

The weather in the Markha Valley region is partially cloudy, and it might rain there too. As for the batches:

• The 23 August 2026 Indian Navy batch of Dzo Jongo East and West Expedition is running as per the schedule. Today it’s their 2nd day of rest and acclimatization at the Base Camp.

Kang Yatse 2 Peak Expedition

The weather in the Kang Yatse 2 region is partially cloudy, and it might rain there too. As for the batches:

• The 27 August 2026 Kang Yatse II expedition is on its 7th day, and today they will trek from Nimaling to Base Camp.
• The 29 August batch of Markha valley trek, Kang Yatse 1 expedition, Kang Yatse II expedition and Twin Peaks expedition has left Markha to Hankar with 11 trekkers ,06 climbers , 10 climbers and 02 climbers respectively .
• 30 August the Kang Yatse 2 Expedition batch departed from Sara to Markha with 15 climbers.

The overall conditions are typical of this season. From prime monsoon to transition phase, the weather is behaving as per the expected lines. And teams are continuing their planned movements.

• Cloudy and rainy weather is manageable with the right preparation, albeit extra caution is needed in the Himalayas.
• Before stepping out, it's always better to check the latest weather updates.
• Pack appropriate rain gear, and ensure your equipment is suitable for wet terrain.
• More importantly, follow your trek leader’s instructions earnestly, and avoid unnecessary risks.
• Also, be prepared to delay or reschedule your trek.
