TTH Trek Update: Uttarakhand to Himachal, Leh-Ladakh & Mount Kilimanjaro: All Batches Running as per Schedule
Today, the trekking regions across the Himalayas are experiencing mostly cloudy weather, but some regions are still experiencing bright rays of sun.
Despite the variable weather, trekking activities are progressing smoothly on most routes. Trails remain accessible, although some sections can be wet, muddy, or slippery after rainfall.
Trekkers are advised to carry “proper rain gear, waterproof trekking shoes, and warm layers”, and to stay prepared for sudden changes in mountain weather. Wet and slippery sections may require extra caution.
As per the latest reports, here’s how the weather looks today across the Himalayan trekking regions:
UTTARAKHAND TREKS UPDATE
Valley of Flowers Trek
The weather at the Valley of Flowers base camp (Pipalkoti) is cloudy today. As for the batches:
The 5th September batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will drive from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and back to Ghangaria.
The 6th September batch is on the 3rd day of their trek schedule, and today they will drive from Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and back to Ghangaria.
The 7th September batch is on the 2nd day of their trek schedule, and today they will drive from Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and back to Ghangaria.>
HIMACHAL TREKS UPDATE
Hampta Pass Trek
The weather at the Hampta Pass base camp (Manali) has changed, and it’s cloudy today. As for the batches:
The two batches of 5th September are on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Shea Goru to Chatru and then drive to Chandratal and back to Chatru.
The two batches of 6th September are on the 3rd day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Balu Ka Ghera to Shea Goru via Hampta Pass.
The two batches of 7th September are on the 2nd day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Chhika to Balu Ka Ghera.
Pin Bhaba Trek
The weather at the Pin Bhaba Pass base camp (Kafnu) is sunny today. As for the batches:
The 5th September batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will rest and acclimatise at Kara.
The 6th September batch is on the 3rd day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Mulling to Kara.
The 7th September batch is on the 2nd day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Kafnu to Mulling.
Yunam Peak expedition
The weather at the base camp of the Yunam Peak trek (Manali) has changed, and it’s cloudy today. As for the batches:
The 6th September batch is on the 3rd day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Keylong/Jispa to Bharatpur.
Bhrigu Lake Trek
The weather at the base camp of the Bhrigu Lake trek (Gulaba) has changed, and it’s cloudy today. As for the batches:
The 5th September batch is on the last day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Rola Kholi to Gulaba and then drive to Manali.
Beas Kund Trek
The weather at the base camp of the Beas Kund trek (Dhundi) has changed, and it’s cloudy today. As for the batches:
The 6th September batch is on the 3rd day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Lohali to Summit Point via Lady Leg and Beas Kund and back to Lohali.
Friendship Peak Expedition
The weather at the base camp of the Friendship Peak (Manali) has changed, and it’s cloudy today. As for the batches:
The 6th September batch is on the 3rd day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Lohali to Lady Leg.
LEH - LADAKH EXPEDITION TREK
The weather across the Leh-Ladakh trekking routes was clear till now, but today it's all cloudy. So, we firmly advise all the trekkers to keep a close watch on local weather updates and stay prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions.
Kang Yatse 2 Peak Expedition
The weather in the Kang Yatse 2 region is partially cloudy. As for the batches:
Today, the 30 August Kang Yatse 2 Expedition batch will return to Leh City via Kongmarula Pass.
The 5th September batches of Markha Valley, Dzo Jongo, Kang Yatse 2, Kang Yatse 1 and Kang Yatse 2, and lastly of Kang Yatse 2 and Dzo Jongo, they all departed from Sara Markha.
TANZANIA AFRICA UPDATE (Overseas Trek)
Mount Kilimanjaro Trek
The weather at the base camp of Mount Kilimanjaro Trek (Moshi) is quite favourable and pleasant for trekkers. Basically a perfect weather to explore the place. As for the batches:
The 5th September to 13th September batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower.
The overall conditions are typical of this season. From prime monsoon to transition phase, the weather is behaving as per the expected lines. And teams are continuing their planned movements.
Keeping in mind the ongoing weather conditions and possible upcoming sudden changes, we have actionable tips for trekkers:
Cloudy and rainy weather is manageable with the right preparation, albeit extra caution is needed in the Himalayas.
Before stepping out, it's always better to check the latest weather updates.
Pack appropriate rain gear, and ensure your equipment is suitable for wet terrain.
More importantly, follow your trek leader’s instructions earnestly, and avoid unnecessary risks.
Also, be prepared to delay or reschedule your trek.
