Despite the variable weather, trekking activities are progressing smoothly on most routes. Trails remain accessible, although some sections can be wet, muddy, or slippery after rainfall.

Trekkers are advised to carry "proper rain gear, waterproof trekking shoes, and warm layers", and to stay prepared for sudden changes in mountain weather. Wet and slippery sections may require extra caution.

As per the latest reports, here's how the weather looks today across the Himalayan trekking regions:

UTTARAKHAND TREKS UPDATE

Valley of Flowers Trek

The weather at the Valley of Flowers base camp (Pipalkoti) is a little rainy today. As for the batches:

• The batch of 31st August is on the last day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Pipalkoti back to Rishikesh.
• A new batch of Valley of Flowers has begun on 5th September, and today they will move from Rishikesh to Pipalkoti.

HIMACHAL TREKS UPDATE

Hampta Pass Trek

The weather at the Hampta Pass base camp (Manali) has changed, and it's sunny today. As for the batches:

• The 2nd September batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Shea Goru to Chatru and drive to Chandratal and then back to Chatru.
• The 3rd September batch is on the 3rd day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Balu Ka Ghera to Shea Goru via Hampta Pass.
• Two new batches of Hampta Pass began on 5th September, and today they will drive from Manali to Jobra and trek from Jobra to Chhika.

Pin Bhaba Pass Trek

The weather at the Pin Bhaba Pass base camp (Kafnu) is cloudy today. As for the batches:

• The normal batch and the customized batch of 29th August are on the last day of their trek schedule, and today they will drive from Kaza to Manali.
• The 30th August batch is on the 7th day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Bwaldar to Mudh and drive to Kaza.
• The 31st August batch is on the 6th day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Phutsirang to Bwaldar via Bhaba Pass.
• A new batch of Pin Bhaba began on 5th September, and today they will drive from Shimla to Kafnu.

Yunam Peak Expedition

The weather at the base camp of the Yunam Peak trek (Manali) has changed, and it's sunny today. As for the batches:

• The 30th August batch is on the 7th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Base Camp to Summit and back to Base Camp.

Bhrigu Lake Trek

The weather at the base camp of the Bhrigu Lake trek (Gulaba) has changed, and it's sunny today. As for the batches:

• A new batch of Bhrigu Lake began on 5th September, and today they will drive from Manali to Gulaba and trek to Gulaba Meadows.

LEH - LADAKH EXPEDITION TREK

The weather across the Leh-Ladakh trekking routes was clear till now, but today it's all cloudy. So, we firmly advise all the trekkers to keep a close watch on local weather updates and stay prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions.

Kang Yatse 2 Peak Expedition

The weather in the Kang Yatse 2 region is partially cloudy. As for the batches:

• The 27 August 2026 Kang Yatse II expedition is on its 7th day, and today they will return to Leh city via Kongmarula Pass.
• The 29 August batch of Kang Yatse 1 expedition, Kang Yatse II expedition, and Twin Peaks expedition will have a rest and training day at base camp with 11 trekkers, 06 climbers, 10 climbers and 02 climbers respectively.
• The 30 August Kang Yatse 2 Expedition batch departed from Nimaling to Base Camp with 15 climbers.

The overall conditions are typical of this season. From prime monsoon to transition phase, the weather is behaving as per the expected lines. And teams are continuing their planned movements.

• Cloudy and rainy weather is manageable with the right preparation, albeit extra caution is needed in the Himalayas.
