As we all know, peak winters have started, and cold has rolled in gradually and intensely. The conditions are continuing to shift, and today most of our treks are experiencing cloudy weather. In the coming days, fresh snowfall is expected to occur in high- altitude treks.

The effect of La Niña is yet to be felt in Northern India as it brings colder, snowier, and harsher winters to the Himalayas. So this winter is expected to see a snowy paradise in higher altitudes.

Our sole purpose in curating this weather update is to make your journey easier and more predictable. It carries extensive information regarding weather conditions and the current status of all the treks and batches.

India Trek Update - Uttarakhand Treks

Winter Kuari Pass Trek

After a fresh snowfall yesterday in Kuari Pass, the weather has cleared and shifted to sunny skies today. As the conditions are constantly changing, there are fair chances of precipitation, and trekkers might get to see the next snowfall.

Apart from that, new winter treks have started—

  • The two batches of 31st December are on their last day of the trek, and today they will return from Pipalkoti to Rishikesh.
  • The 1st January batch is on day 5 of their schedule, and today they will move from Tali forest camp to Pipalkoti via Gurson Bugyal and Auli.
  • The 2nd January batch is on day 4 of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Tali Forest Camp to Kuari Pass and back via Khullara Top.
  • The 3rd January batch is on their day 3 schedule, and today they will leave from Gulling Top to Tali Forest Camp.
  • The 4th January batch is on day 2 of their schedule, and today they will move from Pipalkoti to Gulling Top.
  • A new batch of Kuari Pass has started on 5th January, and today they will move from Rishikesh to Pipalkoti.

Chopta Chandrashila 3-day Trek

The weather in Baniyakund is seeing clear skies just as yesterday. As for the batches currently, there is no ongoing 3-day Chopta batch.

Chopta Chandrashila with Deoriatal (5 Days)

The weather in Sari, on the Chopta Chandrashila Trek, has turned all clear again for now. As for the batch update -

  • The 1st January batch is on the last day of their schedule, and today they will drive back to Rishikesh.
  • A new batch of Chopta has begun on 5th January, and today they will start their journey from Rishikesh to Sari Village.
Weather Update of 05-Jan-2026 by Trek The Himalayas

Dayara Bugyal Trek

As the dynamic weather conditions are still prevalent on the Dayara Bugyal trek, the sky has become clear again. As for the batch update -

  • The 4th January batch is on the 2nd day of their trek, and today they will move from Natin to Gui.

Kedarkantha Trek

The Kedarkantha Trek is exhibiting clear weather throughout from the base camp, Sankri, to the summit. Regarding the batches—

  • The 29th December batch is on the last day of its schedule, and today they will depart from Sankri for Dehradun.
  • The 1st January batch is on the day 5 schedule of their trek, and today they will move from Hargoan Camp to Sankri.
  • The 2nd January batch is on day 4 of their trek, and today they will move from Kedarkantha Base to Kedarkantha peak, descend to Hargaon Camp.
  • The 4th January batch is on their day 2 schedule, and today they will move from Sankri to Juda-Ka-Talab.

Brahmatal Trek

The weather in the Brahmatal Trek region has shifted to cloudy again. Analyzing the changing trends, the Brahmatal summit might experience fresh snow. As for the batch update -

  • A new batch of Brahmatal trek has begun on 5th January, and today they will move from Rishikesh to Lohajung through drive.

North East Treks

Sandakphu Trek

The weather in Sepi, the base camp of the Sandakphu Trek, is cloudy for now. As for the batch update—

  • The 30th of December batch is on the last day of their trek, and today they will move from Timburey to Srikhola and drive to NJP.

Africa Trek Update - Tanzania Trek

Mount Kilimanjaro Trek

The current weather in Moshi is clear today as well, and is expected to remain so. Currently, there is no ongoing batch of Kilimanjaro.
