The name Har Ki Dun roughly translates to the ‘Valley Of God’. One of the most captivating mythological beliefs associated with the Har Ki Doon trek is its connection to the exiled Pandavas from the epic Mahabharata. According to local legends, it is said that Pandavas followed this route to Swargarohini Peak to reach the heavens.

En route through the valley, you will pass the ancient village of Osla which houses a temple dedicated to Duryodhan. The ancestors of the village of Osla were staunch followers of Duryodhan, so much so that they built a temple dedicated to him!
