If you are looking to undergo high Himalayan adventure, then the Hampta Pass Trek is the one and only trek which you should opt for.
Hampta Pass Trek comes built in with doughty adventures and there are many. So its for sure that your taste will be suited definitely, to one or the other. Now, please bury your doubts in this regard. You will be having fun, no oopps, lots of fun and a marvellous time.
As you know (well, I presume so!) Manali is full bound in the beauty of nature. Agreed? You have to! The Hampta Pass is just a pass next door! Its situated just south east of Manali. The cost comes around Rs. 9000 per person. The altitude is at max 14100 feet and approximate distance is 26 km that evaluates to a trek of 5-6 days. You usually start from Manali, pass through Prini village and will straight away face the majestic foothills of the Himalayas- the Pir Panjal Range which is the largest range of the lower Himalayas. As you gain altitude in your trek, simultaneously you will gain the views of different hues of nature from dense greenery of pine forests to the awe-inspiring image of Mt. Deo Tibba and Mt. Indrasan and their cascading glaciers to the barren surface of Lahaul and Spiti valley.
The two valleys, Kullu and Lahaul, are connected. Just as you this trek is getting familiar with each other. Yippee! High five! So, back to the job. Though these are connected, they offer contrasting landscape images. Kullu lushes in greenery whereas Lahaul stands rocky and sandy with dark-chocolaty mountain and snow clad peaks.
This whole trek is a paradise for birds lovers. So you can also keep Hampta pass on the top of your list for this very reason, as almost 300 species of birds are found here.
And if you are lucky enough, you can also pay a visit to Chandratal- the moon lake in Spiti. The climb to Hampta pass is moderately steep, so make sure you reach there by lunch time and have a heart meal and enjoy the mood-nurturing scenes.
On your way back, you pass through Rohtang Pass- a route which is a treat in itself. Hampta pass trek is a grand trek for any season. Its also very promising in the monsoons when the wild flowers are in full bloom.
Well to proceed further, even I am convinced that you want to undergo this very trek to Hampta Pass and contact, praise and be blessed with its sceptical beauty and exotic adventures all around.
You will be bound to thank me later for suggesting you such a grand vacation.
Happy Trekking!
