23rd January, 2026 - Trek Update: Fresh Snowfall Blankets a Few Treks in Uttarakhand

It's good news for trekkers who want to enjoy nature amidst snow. The weather in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand has flipped and chances are high that the hills might turn into picturesque winter wonderlands. So, rain or snowfall is likely to persist for a couple of days ahead.

We are here to bring to you the most accurate forecasts till the last moment. Yet these forecasts are still predictions, which can change over time. Our sole purpose is to inform you well about the weather and make your journey easier and more comfortable.

Here is our extensive information regarding weather conditions and the current status of all the treks and batches.

INDIA TREKS UPDATE

  • Uttarakhand Treks

Kedarkantha Trek

Snowfall Update from Hargaon Camp, Kedarkantha Trek

The Kedarkantha Trek is experiencing snowfall throughout from the base camp, Sankri, to the summit. Regarding the batches—

  • The 18th January batch is on the last day of their schedule, and today they will drive back from Sankri to Dehradun.
  • The 19th January batch is on day 5 of their schedule, and today they will move from Hargaon Camp to Sankri.
  • The 21st January batch is on day 3 of their schedule, and today they will move from Juda-ka-Talab to Kedarkantha Base.

Winter Kuari Pass Trek

The weather in Kuari Pass is all cloudy today. Apart from that, new winter treks have started—

  • The 18th January batch is on the last day of their schedule, and today they will move from Pipalkoti to Rishikesh.
  • The 19th January batch is on day 5 of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Tali Forest Camp - Pipalkoti via Gurson Bugyal and Auli.
  • The 20th January batch is on day 4 of their schedule, and today they will move from Tali Forest Camp to Kuari Pass and back via Khullara Top.
  • The 21st January batch is on day 3 of their schedule, and today they will move from Gulling Top to Tali Forest Camp.

Chopta Chandrashila with Deoriatal (5 Days)

The weather in Sari, on the Chopta Chandrashila Trek, has turned cloudy. As for the batch update -

  • The 19th January batch is on the 5th day of their schedule, and today they will move from Baniyakund to Chopta and trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila and return.
  • A new batch started on 23rd Jan 2026 to Chopta Chandrashila with Deoriatal (5 Days).
  • A new batch started on 23rd Jan 2026 to Chopta Chandrashila with Deoriatal (3 Days).

Dayara Bugyal Trek

Snowfall Update from Dayara Bugyal Trek

The weather conditions on the Dayara Bugyal trek have completely changed for good; it is experiencing fresh snowfall. As for the batch update -

  • The 21st January batch is on day 4 of their schedule, and today they will depart from Chilapada To Dayara Top and Trek to Nayata.
  • The 22nd January batch will move from Natin Village to Gui.

Brahmatal Trek

The weather in the Brahmatal Trek region has also turned cloudy with chances of snowfall in the coming days. As for the batch update -

  • A fresh batch has started on 23rd Jan 2026 and it will drive from Rishikesh to Lohajung.
  • North East Treks

Sandakphu Trek

The weather in Sepi, the base camp of the Sandakphu Trek, continues to remain sunny. As for the batch update—

  • The 19th January batch is on day 5 of their schedule, and today they will move from Aal To Timburey via Sandakphu.

So, as the weather has changed and fresh snowfall started, conditions are manageable with proper gear and guidance. You should carry adequate winter layers, waterproof shoes, and microspikes.
