As the monsoon is marching towards its peak, cloudy skies and rainfall are dominating most of the Himalayan trekking routes. The overcast conditions are expected to continue, with occasional to moderate showers throughout the day.
While the landscapes are overwhelmed by the fresh greenery, the wet conditions equally need precaution. Certain treks may have slippery trails and muddy paths, while mountain streams may be overflowing due to rising water levels. Trekkers should expect a slower pace and possible delays along the route.
Trekkers are advised to wear waterproof jackets, trekking shoes with better grip, carry trekking poles, pack extra warm clothing, use rain cover for backpack, and rain pants. Considering the time of the year, trekkers are also advised to exercise extra caution and prioritize safety.
