We are happy to bring back the Kanamo Peak Expedition, one of the highest trekkable summits in India. This beautiful trek of Himachal Pradesh was paused since 2020 and now opened again for trekkers.
Kanamo Peak trek takes you to an impressive height of 19,553 ft. The summit gives you amazing views of Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti Valleys. This trek lets you experience the rarely seen beauty of rugged mountains of Himachal. You trek through dry mountain deserts with very little greenery, and patches of snow near the summit.
What Makes the Kanamo Peak Expedition Special?
Kanamo Peak is one of the most loved expeditions, because of its scenic beauty and the beautiful trail. Apart from its scenic beauty, something which makes this trek special is its accessibility. Trekking a peak over 19,000 meters usually requires technical equipment, while this is one such rare peak which hardly requires technical mountaineering gear, only a good fitness level and experience.
This trek is suitable to trekkers with a decent previous trekking experience. The terrains are tough, and being at such high altitude the risk of AMS is higher. Symptoms like headache, nausea and dizziness are common, but they should not be ignored. The summit day is again tough, but the amazing views make up for it.
From the summit you get a 360 degrees view of surrounding peaks and valleys. You can easily spot peaks of Spiti, Kinnaur and Ladakh. You can also spot the Parang La and Pin Parvati Pass in the distance. The views are just amazing!
