Gift of Hope: An Initiative by TTH Towards Supporting And Spreading Kindness In The Himalayas

On 2nd November 2025, Trek the Himalayas proudly organised and took the initiative in organising a donation camp called the “Gift of Hope”, dedicated to bringing warmth, care, and compassion to those in need.

Decades ago, this camp was established as a simple effort to give back to the communities and to those people who have always welcomed trekkers with open arms, turning their trekking experience filled with smiles, gratitude, and human connection. To fulfill the aim of this camp, various volunteers, trekkers, and locals came together to share not just material support but hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Trek The Himalayas support for hope for a brighter tomorrow

To continue supporting all those bright minds residing in the Himalayas, TTH has been organising these camps three times a year. We believe that true adventure not only lies in conquering peaks. That rush of adrenaline and happiness? It can also be achieved through uplifting the lives of others and supporting them in becoming a better version of themselves.

Through Gift of Hope, the organisation continues to strengthen its bond with the mountain communities, reminding everyone that kindness, when shared, multiplies just like the joy on every face that day.

What is “Gift of Hope”?

A heartfelt effort, small yet effective initiative taken by ‘Trek the Himalayas’ in the remote areas of the Himalayan regions for those kids is what “Gift of Hope” is. Sticking to the meaning of its name, this donation camp spreads hope and happiness to people who need it the most.

This camp aimed to reduce and bridge the gap between those who are overly privileged and those who are actually in need. For the betterment of the country and society, bright minds must have access to all the essential learning and sources.

This camp is not about an act of charity; it's about an act of kindness that nurtures dreams, contributes to strengthening communities, and inspires the next generation of thinkers.

  • Speaking of, this proactive step was taken in the Osla village near Sankari Base Camp. The camp was possible because of some people’s profound dedication and support. Among all these people, one of them was Mr. Ajay Rawat (Sankari Base Camp Manager).
  • The donation was made by many of our trekkers across the Sampurna Adarsh Vidyalaya, Prathmik Vidyalaya, and the Anganwadi School to 150 + kids.
  • The main equipment that was distributed in the camp consists of Stationery and Sports items, keeping education and their overall growth in the young learners.
  • In fact, our very talented Trek Leaders Ayushi, Pankaj, and Deepak came forward and volunteered wholeheartedly in this kind gesture from our side to spread happiness, joy, and inspiration among the kids.
  • The local Gram Pradhan, Mr. Ramesh Lal, also played a crucial role in the smooth execution of this noble camp. Together, everyone’s collective efforts turned Gift of Hope into a memorable celebration of unity and the spirit of giving in the Himalayas.

Twist of Surprise: Lucky Draw At The Gift Of Hope

Collage of images spreading happiness, joy among the kids

The camp was all about spreading happiness, joy among the kids and motivating them to aim for a brighter future. But while doing all this, we had stored a twist, a surprise for all those individuals who contributed to support this noble cause.

Now, to appreciate all those individuals who donated to this camp, Trek the Himalayas organized a special Lucky Draw activity at ‘Gift of Hope Camp’ to appreciate every individual who contributed to this noble cause. Each donor’s name was written on a receipt and placed in a box, from which one chit was supposed to be drawn randomly to announce the winner of a special gift from TTH.

This time, it was Shwetai’s lucky day; she is one of our generous trekkers, whose heartfelt donation and spirit of kindness earned her the lucky gift from TTH as a gratitude.

The activity not only brought smiles to our trekker's face but it is also a reminder to everyone that every act of giving, no matter how small it is, carries the power to bring joy in unexpected ways.
