28th January, 2026 - Trek Update: All The Trekking Regions Experienced Fresh Snowfall Yesterday

As the fresh snow has graced most of the trekking regions, a lot of new batches have embarked on their journey to witness snow on different treks. The news of fresh snowfall has created curiosity as well as enthusiasm among the trekkers. Hence, trekkers must go on treks after being absolutely prepared to walk on the snowy path or whatever weather condition it is in their respective trekking regions.

Therefore, we are closely monitoring the weather conditions so that we can keep you updated on all the latest weather forecasts. So, here is our latest weather information across all the treks:

  • Uttarakhand Treks

Winter Kuari Pass Trek

The weather in the Kuari Pass base camp (Pipalkoti) is rainy today.

“The whole area has been experiencing fresh snowfall since yesterday. As for the trekkers, everyone is absolutely safe and is enjoying the snowy weather.”

As for the trek update -

  • On 24th January two batches of Winter Kuari Pass started their trek journey. Among them:
    • 1 batch is coming back to Rishikesh.
    • While the other batch will be moving towards Pipalkoti as per their trek schedule.
  • The two batches of 25th January are also coming back mid trek due to snowfall.
  • And the 26th January batch, they are also coming back from their mid trek.
  • Although, a new batch of Kuari Pass has begun on 28th January, and today they will move from Rishikesh to Pipalkoti.

Dayara Bugyal Trek

The weather conditions on the Dayara Bugyal trek have completely changed, and it is once again cloudy there.

“Yesterday, all the trekkers experienced snowfall turning the whole region into a perfect white paradise.”

As for the batch update, all the current ongoing batch (24th and 25th January) batches are coming back to the base camp due to snowfall.

Chopta Chandrashila with Deoriatal (5 days)

The weather in Sari, on the Chopta Chandrashila Trek, has turned once again and today it’s completely cloudy.

“Yesterday trekkers experienced a snowfall throughout the day”. Although, everyone is perfectly fine and are moving forward in their journey.

As for the batch update -

  • The 25th January batch is on day 4 of their trek, and today they will move from Baniyakund to Chopta and trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila and return.
  • The 26th January batch is on day 3 of their schedule, and today they will move from Deoriatal to Tala Village and drive to Baniyakund.
  • A new batch of Chopta Chandrashila has begun on 28th January and today they will move from Rishikesh to Sari Village.

Kedarkantha Trek

The weather in the Kedarkantha base camp Sankri is sunny today, but the trails are still covered with snow.

“Yesterday, all the trekkers witnessed fresh and snowfall during their trekking journey”.

Regarding the batches—

  • The 24th January batch is coming down 1- day early from their trek schedule due to snowfall.
  • The 25th January batch is also coming down mid - trek due to snowfall.
  • The 26th January batch is on day 3 of their schedule, and today they will move from Juda-Ka-Talab to Kedarkantha Base.
  • The 27th January batch is on day 2 of their schedule, and today they will move from Sankri to Juda-Ka-Talab.
  • A new batch of Kedarkantha has begun on 28th January, and today they will arrive at Sankri.

Brahmatal Trek

The weather in the Brahmatal base camp (Lohajung) is cloudy for now. Yesterday, snowfall graced the whole region turning it into a white paradise.

As for the batch update -

  • The 23rd January batch is on the last day of their schedule, and today they will come back from Lohajung to Rishikesh.
  • The 25th January batch is coming back mid- trek, due to snowfall they experienced yesterday.
  • The 27th January batch is not moving further for now, today they will be staying at the base camp only.

Gulabi Kantha Trek

The weather at Hanuman Chatti has also changed once again.

“Yesterday, in Gulabi Kantha, trekkers experienced fresh and snowfall once again.”

As for the weather update -

  • The two 24th January batches are on the last day of their schedule, and today they will move from Kandola Chhani to Hanuman Chatti and drive to Dehradun.
  • North East Treks

Sandakphu Trek

The weather in Sepi, the base camp of the Sandakphu Trek, remains sunny. As for the batch update—

  • The 24th January batch is on day 5 of their schedule, and today they will move from Thokum to Aal.
  • The 25th January batch is on day 4 of their schedule, and today they will move from Phalut to Thokum.
  • The 27th January batch is on day 2 of their schedule, and today they will move from Sepi to Samanden via Ramam.
