28th February Weather Update: Mixed Conditions are Prevailing Across the Himalayan Trails

A mixed weather has rolled out across different regions and altitudes of the Himalayan region. You can expect variable skies, intermittent showers, strong winds, and cold evenings. This is the season when clear, sunny mornings are common that offer stunning mountain views.

The mid to higher altitude areas may witness occasional rain showers. Temperatures are plummeting considerably after sunset and chilly winds are expected to roar across summits. However, sunny days are warm and pleasant and are perfectly suitable for trekking.

Mixed conditions are part of the true Himalayan experience. Sometimes such weather makes your journey more rewarding. So, enjoy every step of the adventure.

INDIA TREKS UPDATE

  • Uttarakhand Treks

Winter Kuari Pass Trek

Today, the weather in the Kuari Pass base camp (Pipalkoti) has turned all sunny. As for the batch updates—

  • The 23rd February batch is on the last day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Tali Forest Camp - Pipalkoti via Gurson Bugyal and Auli.
  • Today, a new batch to Winter Kuari Pass has started and it has moved from Rishikesh to Pipalkoti.

Chopta Chandrashila Trek

Today also, the weather in the Chopta base camp (Sari) is all cloudy. As for the weather updates—

  • The 26th February batch is on day 3 of their schedule, and today they will move from Deoria Tal to Tala Village and drive to Baniyakund.
  • The batch of 27th February is on its second day, and it will move from Sari to Alpine Lake Deoriatal.

Chopta Chandrashila 3 day Trek

Today as well, the weather in the base camp (Baniyakund) is all cloudy. As for the weather updates—

  • The 27th February batch is on day 2 and it has moved from Baniyakund to Chopta (drive) and trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila and Return.

Kedarkantha Trek

The weather at the Kedarkantha base camp in Sankri has turned all Sunny again. As for the trek updates—

  • The 27th February batch is on its second day, and today it will move from Sankri to Juda-ka-Talab.

Brahmatal Trek

The weather at the base camp, Lohajung, is all Sunny today and it’s perfect for trekking. As for the batch updates –

  • The 23rd February batch is on the last day of their schedule, and today they will move from Lohajung to Rishikesh.

Dayara Bugyal Trek

The weather at the base camp, Natin, of Dayara Bugyal is Sunny again. As for the batches—

  • The 27th February batch is on its second day, and today it will move from Natin to Gui campsite.

Nag Tibba Trek

The weather in and around Nag Tibba Trek is all sunny today, an ideal condition to hike in nature.

  • Today, a new batch has started to Nag Tibba and it has moved from Dehradun to Pantwari village and trek to Camp 1.
  • North-East Treks

Sandakphu Trek

The weather in (Sepi) Sandakphu base camp is Cloudy today also. Occasional showers may be expected.

  • The 22nd February batch is on their last day, and they will move from Timburey to Srikhola and Drive to NJP Via Sepi.
  • The 27th February batch is on its second day, and today they have moved from Sepi to Samanden via Ramam.

Because of the mixed conditions, the rain can be expected any time. So, we would like to recommend you pack proper layering (base layer, fleece, insulated jacket, waterproof shell).
