19th March Weather Update: Kuari Pass and Chopta Chandrashila Trek are Experiencing Rainy Weather Today

The Himalayas are once again experiencing mixed weather conditions as the season transitions. Today, all the trekking regions are experiencing cloudy weather, except for the Kuari Pass and the Chopta Chandrashila trek.

Both these trekking regions are experiencing rainy weather conditions today. So, trekkers are advised to carry proper gear and proper layers of clothes. Before leaving for their trek, they should ask their respective trek leader about the same.

That said, till now, all the batches are going quite smoothly without encountering any problems. Just remember that it’s important that you keep yourself updated with local weather forecasts, as conditions might change quickly. Other than that, if there are any changes, we will keep you updated.

  • Uttarakhand Treks

Kuari Pass Trek

The weather in the Kuari Pass base camp (Pipalkoti) has turned, and trekkers are experiencing rain there today. As for the batch update -

  • The 15th March batch is on the 5th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Tali Forest Camp - Pipalkoti via Gurson Bugyal and Auli.
  • The 16th March batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Tali Forest Camp to Kuari Pass and back via Khullara Top.

Chopta Chandrashila Trek

Today, the weather in the Chopta base camp (Sari) has changed to all cloudy. As for the batch updates -

  • The 15th March batch is on the last day of their trek schedule, and today they will drive back to Rishikesh.
  • The 16th March batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Baniyakund to Chopta (drive) and trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila and return.

Brahmatal Trek

The weather at the base camp, Lohajung, has turned all cloudy today. As for the batch update -

  • The 15th March batch is on the 5th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Brahmatal to Lohajung.
  • The 16th March batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Tilandi to Brahmatal via Jhandi Top and Brahmatal Summit.

Dayara Bugyal Trek

The weather in Dayara Bugyal has become cloudy today. As for the trek updates -

  • The 15th March batch is on the last day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Nayata to Natin Village and drive to Dehradun.

Pangarchulla Trek

The weather of Pipalkoti, the base camp of the Pangarchulla trek, has also turned cloudy today. As for the trek updates -

  • The 13th March batch is on its 7th day of the trek, and today they will drive from Pipalkoti to Rishikesh.
  • The two batches of 14th March are on the 6th day of their trek, and today they will trek from Khullara Camp to Tugasi Village and drive to Pipalkoti.
  • The 15th March batch is on the 5th day of their trek schedule, and today they will trek from Khullara to Pangarchulla Summit and back to Khullara Camp.
  • The two batches of 16th March are on the 4th day of their trek, and today they will trek from Khullara to Kuari Pass via Khullara Top and back to Khullara.

Kedarkantha Trek

The weather in Sankri, the base camp of the Kedarkantha trek, has turned cloudy today. As for the trek updates -

  • The 14th March batch is on the last day of their trek, and today they will move from Sankri to Dehradun.

Gulabi Kantha Trek

The weather at Hanuman Chatti, the base camp for the Gulabi Kantha trek, is all bright and sunny today. As for the trek updates -

  • The 15th March batch is on the last day of their trek, and today they will move from Kandoli Chhani to Hanuman Chatti and drive to Dehradun.

Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek

The weather in Lohajung has turned all cloudy today. As for the trek updates -

  • The 15th March is on the 5th day of their trek, and today they will move from Ghairoli Patal to Wan, then drive to Lohajung.
  • North-East Treks

Sandakphu Trek

The weather at Sepi, Sandakphu Base Camp, has also changed, and it’s all cloudy there today. As for the batch updates -

  • The 13th March batch is on its 7th day of the trek, and today they will move from Timburey to Srikhola and drive to NJP via Sepi.
  • The 15th March batch is on the 5th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Thokum to Aal.
  • The 16th March batch is on the 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Phalut to Thokum.

With all the cloudy and rainy weather, trekkers might face a lot of random changes in the weather conditions this week. Although for now, all the batches are going quite smoothly. If there are any further changes in the condition, don’t worry, we will keep you updated as soon as possible.
