16th March Weather Update: It All Sunny Today After Yesterday’s Fresh Snowfall in the Himalayas

The Himalayas are once again experiencing mixed weather conditions as the season transitions. Yesterday, some trekking regions experienced fresh snowfall, while some just experienced cloudy and little cold weather.

But today? The weather has changed completely. Trekkers are witnessing relatively clear mornings, where the sun is shining brightly in the sky resulting in temperature getting a little warmer as compared to yesterday's weather.

So, trekkers are advised to carry proper gears and proper layers of clothes. Before leaving for their trek it’s better they ask their respective trek leader about the same. That said, the overall trekking is comfortable and scenic, with panoramic snow-clad peaks over summits.

Just remember that it’s important, you keep yourself updated with local weather forecasts as conditions might change quickly.

Winter Kuari Pass Trek

Today, the weather in the Kuari Pass base camp (Pipalkoti) is all sunny today, but yesterday trekkers experienced fresh snowfall there. As for the batch update -

• The 13th March batch is on 4th day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Tali Forest Camp to Kuari Pass and back Via Khullara Top.
• The 15th March batch is on 2nd day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Pipalkoti to Gulling Top.
• A new batch of Kuari Pass began on 16th March, and today it will move from Rishikesh to Pipalkoti.

Chopta Chandrashila Trek

Today, the weather in the Chopta base camp (Sari) has again turned all bright and sunny, but yesterday trekkers experienced fresh snowfall there. As for the batch updates -

• The 13th March batch is on its 4th day of the trek, and today they will move from Baniyakund to Chopta and trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila and return.
• The 15th March batch is on 2nd day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Sari to Alpine Lake Deoriatal.
• A new batch of Chopta Chandrashila has begun on 16th March, and today it will move from Rishikesh to Sari Village.

Chopta Chandrashila 3 Day Trek

The weather in Sari, base camp for Chopta Chandrashila, is all sunny today, but yesterday trekkers experienced fresh snowfall there. Info regarding batch updates:

• The 14th March batch is on last day of their trek schedule, and today, it will drive back to Rishikesh.

Kedarkantha Trek

The weather of Sankri, the base camp for the Kedarkantha trek, is all bright and sunny today, but yesterday trekkers experienced fresh snowfall there. As for the trek updates -

• The 14th March is on 3rd day of their trek, and today they will move from Juda-Ka-Talab to Kedarkantha Base.

Brahmatal Trek

The weather at the base camp, Lohajung, is all Sunny, but yesterday trekkers experienced fresh snowfall there. As for the batch update -

• The 13th March batch is on its 4th day of the trek, and today they will move from Tilandi to Brahmatal via Jhandi Top and Brahmatal Summit.
• The 15th March batch is on 2nd day of their trek schedule, and today they will move from Lohajung to Gujreni.
• A new batch of Brahmatal has begun on 16th March, and today it will move from Rishikesh to Lohajung via drive.

Dayara Bugyal Trek

The weather in Dayara Bugyal has become all sunny today, but yesterday trekkers experienced fresh snowfall there. As for the trek updates -

• The 13th March batch is on its 4th day of the trek, and today they will move from Chilapada to Dayara Top and Trek to Nayata.
