The Winter trek of the whole year is the Chadar trek, a walk through the frozen river of Zanskar. We got an overwhelming amount of trekkers for Chadar this time, and more than you, it was us who were excited to host you in the magical land of Leh.

However, the current situation is not in our favor. we regret to inform you that the Chadar Trek stands suspended as directed by the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh.  

Yesterday on 22nd Dec, the Hon'ble CEC conducted the Chadar meeting and it was directed that due to the increasing threat of the 3rd wave of Covid and the growing concerns over the new Omicron strain, all winter events, festivals, and tours stand suspended. With the first Omicron positive case in Leh, the Hill council, administration, and Medical departments raised concerns. Hence, the DM’s office in Leh released the above notice today. 

Chadar is a trek like no other and we were eager for you to experience this enthralling walk on the frozen river. But we duly respect the Hon’ble’s decision.

If you haven't booked your flight tickets to Leh yet, please hold off on booking them and on making any upcoming investments for your trip to Leh for the Chadar trek. 

Before the initiation of the refund process, here are the three options you can choose in lieu of the cancellation- 

1. Voucher-based refund - A 100% refund voucher that you can redeem on any treks in the future. 
2. Cash-based refund- A 95% percent refund in cash through bank transfer. 
3. Alternative Trek- Even if Chadar is canceled, you can still come to trek with us on some mesmerizing snow treks. You can choose any of the following treks this season:

In case you choose one of these treks, you will receive a voucher or cash refund for the difference in price. 

Please let us know of the same within the next 48 hours so that the trek coordinator can check the availability of batches on other treks.
