Panch Kedar Trek is a spiritual odyssey that takes you on a transformative journey to five sacred temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. This ethereal pilgrimage not only offers breathtaking views of Himalayan landscapes but also provides a rare opportunity to delve deep into the ancient myths and legends of Hinduism.
- As the name suggests, the Panch Kedar Trek comprises five sacred temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. These temples are Kedarnath, Madhyamaheshwar, Tungnath, Rudranath, and Kalpeshwar.
- It is believed that Nandi’s hump is at Kedarnath, his legs at Tungnath, his mid-torso at Madhyamaheshwar, his hair is believed to be at Kalpeshwar, and his face at Rudranath.
- The total trek is approximately 130 km involving 12 days. Kedarnath Dham is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
- Madhyamaheswar temple is hundreds of years old and you can get a close look at the ancient architecture.
- Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world.
- Trek to Rudranath is considered the toughest among the Panch Kedars. Kalpeshwar is the only Kedar that remains open throughout the year.
