With their towering peaks, lush valleys, and diverse ecosystems, this region has become a magnet for trekking enthusiasts. The combination of breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural experiences, and a sense of exhilarating challenge has positioned the Eastern Himalayas as a prime destination for those seeking to forge a deep connection with nature while pushing their limits.

Why The Eastern Himalayas?

As an adventure enthusiast, you might wonder, what sets the Eastern Himalayas apart? The answer lies in the unparalleled blend of natural wonders and cultural diversity that this region offers. Imagine walking in the footsteps of ancient traders and pilgrims along age-old trails, as you're enveloped by misty mountains, dense forests, and vibrant rhododendron blooms. A trekking journey in this region is as beautiful as the destinations.

Spanning across the states of Sikkim, and West Bengal, this region is a haven for those seeking a harmonious blend of awe-inspiring landscapes and vibrant local traditions. The East Indian Himalayas boast a diverse topography that ranges from verdant valleys and dense forests to towering peaks and glacial lakes. This geographical variety creates a haven for trekkers, mountaineers, and nature enthusiasts alike. The region is home to some of the world's highest peaks, including Kanchenjunga - the third-highest mountain on the planet - standing as a sentinel of grandeur and wonder. The dramatic contrasts between lush subtropical zones and snow-clad alpine heights offer a dynamic canvas that nature herself has painted with precision.

In this blog, we set our sights on two iconic treks that epitomize the allure of the Eastern Himalayas: Goechala and Sandakphu. These treks hold a special place in the hearts of adventurers, offering an immersive journey into the heart of the mountains.

The main highlight of any trek journey will always be either the places you get to explore or the views that you will get to witness only once in your life. But to explore and experience all that scenic beauty, you must remain safe and healthy, which can be possible only if you do the proper intake of nutrients, and most importantly, of all consume water in a perfectly adequate amount. It’s an obvious yet the most ignored fact that Hydration is very important for trekking, it’s like the backbone of the whole trip. Which is why every trek leader’s first question at the start or end of their trek is - How much water did you drink today? Half of the time, the pattern of the answer remains the same, where some of them just give sheepy smiles, some tell numbers but are in doubt, and some of them have no idea whether they have drunk it at all or not.
