A Winter Trekking and Yoga & Meditation Retreat combines the exhilarating experience of trekking in the snow-covered Himalayan landscapes with the serenity and mindfulness of yoga and meditation. This unique retreat offers a perfect blend of adventure and spiritual rejuvenation, allowing participants to connect with nature and themselves in a profound way. The retreat is typically conducted in the Dayara Bugyal Trek and spans over 6 days.
Our Yoga Retreat comes with a combination of Yogic practices and trekking in the Himalayas. In this specially designed retreat, you can feel the breathtaking scenery of the Himalayas while indulging in meditation and yogasanas at a high altitude and in front of some of the most amazing mountain views. Yoga and meditation are a great way to free your mind from worry and stress and with nature surrounding you in the divine environment, you can reconnect with nature and experience ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation. Have a magical experience in the snow-clad mountains.
Yoga is a divine journey of self-realization and personal growth and when you are practising in the midst of nature, it brings you closer to your own wisdom and source of happiness. Nature is one of the biggest medicines and a refreshing trek paired with spiritual practices in the Himalayan mountains is a life-changing experience.
Sattvic diet has a great influence on our consciousness and such a diet brings about purity, harmony, health, and well-being. Such a diet includes seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole grains, pulses, sprouts, dried nuts, etc. and the food is cooked and eaten with love and gratitude.
The self-reflection sessions help you identify and let go of negative beliefs and thoughts. In yoga practices, self-reflection is an integral part that leads to the visceral awareness of your inner divinity.
Yogic practitioners believe that mountains reveal to us the ancient rhythms of Earth and thus hiking and trekking have a profound impact on your body, mind, and spirit. The scenic beauty of the mountains and encountering the culture deepens our connection to the earth and enriches the sense of community. Stable, solid, and unmoving mountains show us the true meaning of life and the Himalayas are a haven for nourishing the mind, body, and soul.
First, you can arrive at Delhi, Dehradun Airport or Chandigarh. The journey from these locations to Dehradun is explained below.
1. Take an overnight train from Delhi to Dehradun.
2. Take a bus to Dehradun ISBT from Delhi Kashmiri gate ISBT or Chandigarh Sector 17 Bus stand, and then take local transport to the pickup point (Prince Chowk).
Delhi to Dehradun - 250km | 6hr.
Chandigarh to Dehradun - 220km | 5hr
The distance from the Dehradun Bus Stand (ISBT) to the Railway Station is 6 km, without traffic, it will take 15 minutes.
( We always recommend to go for the govt. Buses over the private ones outside the bus station as based on the experience we have found that there are very high chances of delay involved with private buses. Also, govt. Buses are always more reliable. Whichever bus you choose, just make sure to reach Dehradun at least by 05:30 am positively. )
3. Take a flight to Dehradun airport (Jolly Grant Airport), then from the Airport to Prince Chowk, Dehradun Distance is 30km and it will take around 1 hr( if coming by flight then reach one day early).
( If you prefer to travel independently to Base camp and don't want to take TTH's pick-up service, you can either take a government bus or book a private cab from Dehradun. Your trek coordinator will provide guidance on how to arrange for the bus or cab booking. )
TTH offers comfortable transportation through Tempo Traveler, Bolero, or equivalent vehicles. If you wish to upgrade your mode of transportation, please contact your trek coordinator for further assistance.
