is the best time to spot wildlife, as many animals are active and easy to see. The
crater is known for having a high concentration of animals in a small area, making it
one of the best places in Africa to see wildlife. You will enjoy a game drive along the
crater floor, where you’ll have a good chance of spotting the Big Five, lion, elephant,
leopard, rhino, and buffalo, all living in this natural enclosure. You’ll also see
zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and many types of antelopes.
Later, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch by a small lake inside the crater. The lake is home
to hippos and many water birds, including flamingos, storks, cranes, and ibis. The views
here are peaceful, and it’s a great spot to rest before continuing the drive. The
Ngorongoro Crater was formed over two million years ago when a large volcano erupted and
