HOW IT STARTED
In 2007, two young mountaineers, Rakesh Pant and Sandeep Rawat, met at the start of a Siachen expedition. The expedition ended, but a deep friendship had just begun.They shared a love for adrenaline and adventure.
The combination that saw them traverse the mighty Himalayas, summit quite a few peaks and explore trails and paths that would leave the rest of us fainthearted. Soon, they were working for the same company, but in different cities. Sandeep in Delhi and Rakesh in Bangalore. But the call of the Himalayas was just too strong to be ignored. Sitting in restaurants in their respective cities, a plan was hatched on the phone. A plan to quit their jobs, start a trekking company and share their love for the high mountains with other people. But what would they call this company?
“How about Trek The Himalayas?”, asked one. “Perfect!” said the other.

- We follow eco-friendly practices. Providing garbage bags, separating wet and dry wastes, minimizing the garbage, cleaning the trails, dumping the waste packs directly at the municipality and educating our trekkers, has made us an eco-trekking organisation.
- We also run monthly contests so that the outdoor creatives have a platform to showcase their abilities.

Founders
Rakesh Pant
Founder & CEO
Rakesh Pant is a passionate mountaineer and his love for the Himalayas began with
mountaineering, and he has completed prominent mountaineering courses from NIM. He has been part
of numerous expeditions organized by IMF and has successfully scaled several peaks, including
Kamet, Nun, Satopanth, Changbang, Panwali Dwar, Bhagirathi 2, Mt. Plateau, Mt. Elbrus, and
trekking peaks like Stok Kangri, Shiti Dhar, Friendship, and Baljuri.
He is also a Liaison Officer and has worked with many international teams during their Himalayan
expeditions. He has completed the High Altitude Specialization Trek Leading course from NIM and
worked as a freelance outdoor instructor or guest instructor at NIM. He has also been a trip
leader for UK-based Acorn Adventure.
Since the foundation of his company, He has strived to promote hikes and create job
opportunities for locals. He has been reinventing traditional trekking standards and introducing
new ones. Along with his friend and partner Sandeep, he also organizes social welfare camps.
Through his company, He has been a Trek Manager for 11 years and is known for his proficiency.
His vision for promoting hikes and creating job opportunities for locals has made a significant
impact in the trekking industry. His passion for mountaineering and his dedication to his work
have inspired many aspiring mountaineers and trekking enthusiasts.
Sandeep Rawat
Founder & CEO
He has an undying love for the mountains. His passion for adventure began with sports climbing,
which eventually led him to trekking and mountaineering. After completing his education, Sandeep
knew he wanted to pursue a career in the adventure field.
He has been part of several mountaineering expeditions, including the challenging Mt. Plateau,
Changbang, and Panwali Dwar. He has also climbed several trekking peaks, such as Mt. Elbrus, Stok
Kangri, Shiti Dhar, Friendship, and Kang Yatse 2. His love for the mountains has never waned, and he
has continued to lead treks even after starting his own company.
He began his journey by conducting outdoor leadership learning camps, and eventually became a
trainer for rock climbing for NSG commandos. He then decided to start his own company, with a
mission to provide employment opportunities to those who share his passion for the mountains.
Despite his busy schedule as a company owner, He never misses a chance to lead treks himself. He can
often be spotted on the treks, encouraging trekkers and appreciating the efforts of his staff. He is
a fitness enthusiast and cycling enthusiast as well.
With over two decades of experience in guiding, He has led more than 600 hikes in the Himalayas. His
love for the mountains and his dedication to his work have made him an inspiration for many in the
adventure field.

Trek Leaders
Qualified with Basic Mountaineering Course and Advanced Mountaineering Course. Each of the Trek Leaders holds Wilderness First Aid Responder Certification.

Besides Trek Leaders, every batch has sufficient support staff including local guides, cooks and helpers .
